When printouts display illegible characters, it often means the printer is not interpreting the data from Windows correctly. Here's how to address this issue:

Check for a Corrupted Printer Driver

To test, print a document from WordPad: Click the Start button (Bottom left corner, looks like a window), navigate to Programs > Accessories > WordPad, enter some text, and print. If the issue persists, reinstall the printer driver.

Ensure Correct Printer Driver Usage

Verify you're using the appropriate driver by going to File > Printer Setup > For Reports/Graphs in your application. Ensure the selected printer driver matches your printer model.

Avoid Printer Emulation Mode Conflicts

Printers often emulate other models. Ensure your printer’s current mode matches the one selected in your software settings. Consult your printer's manual to adjust the emulation mode if necessary.

Font Selection Issues

Illegible prints can result from using an incompatible font. In Printer Setup, switch to a standard font, such as Arial or Times New Roman, particularly if you initially chose a symbol font or one that's too large or complex.

Disable Font Controllers or Enhancers

If none of the above steps work, a font controller or enhancer might be interfering with your prints. Exit the problematic application, disable any font management software, and attempt to print again. Refer to your software's documentation for guidance on disabling these tools.
