When managing investment accounts, it is necessary to account for any associated fees, commissions, loads, or penalties. Here's how to input and utilize these details. The functionalities related to fees and other transaction details are designed to allow manual recording and referencing within the Account Settings. The automation of these details in transaction entries is not a feature of the current system, so manual input will be required when necessary. For further details and step-by-step guidance, please refer to the appropriate sections within the software or user manual.

Fees

Enter any maintenance or custodial fees in the Account Settings under the Fees button.

Inputting fees is for recording purposes and does not automatically apply to the transactions.

Commission

If an explicit commission is added to the purchase or subtracted from the sale proceeds, you can enter it in the Fees button. It will not automatically populate when entering a Buy transaction, so manual input in the transaction window will be necessary.

Load

A load is a commission built into the purchase price of a mutual fund or other security. This information can be managed similarly to commissions, without automatic population in transaction entries.

Updating Market Value

To correct the market value, update the price of the fund. For information about updating prices manually, refer to the relevant section or guide within the software.

Penalties

Penalties may be incurred for early withdrawals from CDs, early withdrawals from tax-deferred plans, or for withdrawals that are too large. These should be checked with a financial advisor and entered manually if necessary.

Utilizing the Fees Button

The Fees button in the Account Settings records details of fees, commissions, penalties, etc., for a specific account. This information is stored but does not have an automation effect on entering transaction details or fees. It is a reference and does not automatically populate fields in the Enter transaction window.

Enter any fees, commissions, loads, or penalties associated with transactions for this account. If there is a fixed amount per transaction, enter it in the left column. If the amount is a percentage of the transaction total, enter the percentage in the right column.
