You can designate one business to include all business transactions that do not have a valid business tag. Quicken will automatically associate all business transactions without a business tag to your selected business.

You can select this check box for a single business at a time. The first time you add a business to Quicken, Quicken automatically selects this check box, but you can clear the check box.

Selecting or removing a business to track transactions without a tag

Use this procedure to change the status of Business transactions without a tag belong to this business.

  1. Go to the Business tab.
  2. Select Business Tools Manage Business Information.  
  3. In the Manage Business Information window, choose the business if there is more than one and select Edit.
  4. Select the checkbox Business transactions without a tag belong to this business to designate that business for assigning tags. Remove the check from the checkbox to no longer use that business assigning tags.
  5. Select OK


Tracking a single business

If you plan to track only a single business in Quicken, selecting this check box can save you the time and effort it takes to tag your business transactions.

Tracking several businesses

If you plan to track several businesses in Quicken, clearing this check box for every business and tagging each business transaction with the appropriate business tag can help you preserve your historical data as your business prospects change and evolve.
