You can schedule a bill and deposit in advance. On the day it's due, Quicken either reminds you or automatically enters it in your register, whichever you prefer. Here's how it works:

At startup, Quicken checks for scheduled bills and deposits that are due or past due (that is, they became due since the last time you used Quicken). Quicken then processes them as follows:

  • If you selected Remind Me, Quicken displays the scheduled bill or deposit in various locations where it can be viewed, edited, recorded, paid, skipped, or otherwise acted on.
  • If you selected Automatically Enter, Quicken records the bill or deposit in the register and changes it from scheduled to recorded (or postdated)—automatically, without asking you for confirmation.
  • To monitor scheduled bills and deposits on the Home tab
    1. Click the Home tab.
    2. In the Stay on Top of Monthly Bills section, use Options > Change the date range to change the time period the list of bills and income reminders includes.
  • To monitor scheduled bills and deposits on the Bills tab
    1. Click the Bills tab.
    2. If necessary, click the Upcoming button to display your upcoming scheduled transactions.
    3. If you choose to act on the scheduled bill or deposit at this time, use the Enter, Edit, and Skip options.
  • To monitor scheduled bills & deposits in the Business tab (Quicken Home & Business only)
    1. Click the Business tab.
    2. Click the Cash Flow button.
    3. If necessary, scroll to view the Business Reminders snapshot below the In/Out/What's Left snapshot.
    4. If you choose to act on a scheduled bill or deposit at this time, use the Enter, Edit, and Skip options.
