If the payee name you want to enter already exists, Quicken asks if you'd like to update the address of the existing payee or, create a new record using the same payee name but with a different address. In the latter case, you must add an identifier to distinguish one payee/address combination from the other.
Quicken displays the payee name in the Address Book window with the identifier enclosed by braces (for example, Financial Institution {Credit Card}). The identifier is for tracking purposes only and won't display on printed checks or forms.
- From the Edit Address Book window, click the Payee tab.
- Enter the payee name and address.
- Click Update to update the address of the existing payee, or enter a text or numeric identifier.
- Click Add.
