The Quicken portfolio provides a review of investing performance using various standard views like portfolio value, unrealized gains, and realized gains. You can sort each of them by further standard views.To view holdings portfolio value
- Click the Portfolio Value button.
- Select the appropriate grouping from the Group by drop-down menu.
- Type - Group the holdings in the portfolio by the type of the security.
- Asset Class - Group the holdings based on the asset class like large cap stock, small cap stock, international stock, etc.
- Securities - Group the holdings by security.
- Account - Group the securities by the investment account.
To view unrealized gain (your profitable position that is yet to be cashed in)
- Click the Unrealized Gain button.
- Select the appropriate grouping from the Group by drop-down menu.
- Type - Group the holdings in the portfolio by the type of the security.
- Asset Class - Group the holdings based on the asset class like large cap stock, small cap stock, international stock, etc.
- Securities - Group the holdings by security.
- Account - Group the securities by the investment account.
To view realized gain (the gain based on the sale of the holdings in a particular period)
- Click the Realized Gain button.
- Select the appropriate grouping from the Group by drop-down menu.
- Type - Group the holdings in the portfolio by the type of the security.
- Asset Class - Group the holdings based on the asset class like large cap stock, small cap stock, international stock, etc.
- Securities - Group the holdings by security.
- Account - Group the securities by the investment account.
Latest market data
When looking at your Portfolio while markets are closed, Quicken will automatically show the price change data from the last trading day. It will then automatically advance when markets reopen.
Mutual fund price callout
Mutual fund prices update after markets close. When Quicken identifies a mutual fund, an info icon appears next to the price when the latest price displayed is not from the most recent trading day.
Displaying Asset Classes
Securities with multiple asset classes will display within each relevant asset class alongside a percentage label that indicates the proportion of the security that falls within that asset class.
When the funds include "Cash" as one of the asset classes in a mixture, Quicken differentiates it by naming the asset class "Cash in Security." Renaming the asset class helps to distinguish between cash as an asset and the actual cash in your account.
